Brussels schools will need 38,000 extra places by 2025

Extra capacity will be needed for schools in the Brussels-Capital region by 2025

According to the Brussels Institute of Statistics and Analysis (Ibsa) 38,000 extra places expected to be needed in both Dutch- and French-speaking schools, at nursery, primary and secondary level,.

The highest increase is expected to see at secondary schools with an additional 19,500 pupils by 2025.

An extra 12,500 students will go to primary school and 6,000 to kindergarten. More than 80% of the increase is expected to be in the Francophone school system.
