The Greenhouses of the Royal Palace at Laeken are remarkable. Initially conceived as an orangery, the Winter Garden is a gem of Art Nouveau style and will delight both aficionados of 19th century architecture and green-fingered plant enthusiasts. The highly impressive greenhouses with their ironwork frames are home to a charming range of flora and many rare species.
They cover six acres of neoclassical rotundas, domes and galleries. Twenty full time gardeners tend the giant ferns, fruit-bearing banana trees, grottoes and an astonishing collection of tropical plants. Walkways are filled with climbing geraniums and fuchsias whose blossoms form an overhead canopy. A royal visit awaits!
From April 18th to May 09th 2015.
