After 32 years of renovation and restoration work, Mons’ landmark Baroque belfry is opening again to visitors this weekend. A panaroma view of the city is open to visitors at the top of the belfry.
Around €7 million have been spent on restoring the belfry which dates from 1661 and is made up of 459,000 bricks. The 87-metre tall building is a listed UNESCO World Heritage site. Only 50 people will be able to access the belfry at any one time.
