An activity-filled family day out awaits you in the Coudenberg Palace (Ancien Palais de Bruxelles), which was home to Charles V. The program includes an introduction to Renaissance dancing, a meeting with the Ommegang characters, guided tours, games dating from Breughel’s time, creation of heraldry, a costume workshop, etc.
On May 17, 2015, enjoy “Family Day” at the Coudenberg Palace! Let yourself be swept up in a sumptuous pavan or a fast-paced galliard. Children and adults can take part in an introduction to Renaissance arts. Follow the guide to tour the ancient underground paths of Charles Quint’s Palace. Learn dances from the time period and make your own model of the palace.
Are you ready to taste renaissance cuisin, to try crossbow shooting, to discover medicinal plants of the “New World”
You will also meet the Ommegang characters: crossbowmen, soldiers armed with halberds, and the lords and ladies of the court will be there to greet you in typical costumes… You too can put on some traditional outfits to pose for the camera.
