Anyone who observes a case of animal abuse or neglect in the Brussels-Capital Region can now report the crime online. That should make it easier to detect and handle the cases individually, Brussels minister for animal welfare Bianca Debaets (CD&V) told brusselnieuws.be.
“Thanks to a new electronic form, people can now easily report cases of abuse,” she said. “This can only improve the welfare of the animals in the region.”
In order to file an online report of animal abuse, one must provide name and address on the form. However, the witness remains anonymous to the one being accused.
It is still possible to relay complaints directly to the police.
