The memorial site in front of the Bourse, which arose spontaneously after the Brussels terror attacks of 22 March, will be cleared on Friday, writes De Standaard.
For weeks following the attacks, hundreds of people made their way to the square in Brussels city centre to express their grief, many lighting candles, laying flowers and writing messages on the ground in chalk.
The City of Brussels has decided to remove the extensive memorial, it announced on Thursday in a statement, but not before documenting the site with professional photographs. The result can be viewed on the City of Brussels website, which will also accept photos and videos made by visitors to the site.
