Belgians no longer need a visa for Indonesia

Tourists from 30 different countries, including Belgium, are no longer required to obtain a visa to enter Indonesia. The tourists are now allowed to travel to the country for 30 days without the document, report various Belgian media based on an announcement made by the Indonesian government on Friday.
Indonesian president Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo on Tuesday signed the new regulation, which officially went into effect on Wednesday.

The 30 countries affected are Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Britain, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Poland, Qatar , Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and the USA.
They join a list of 15 other countries that are exempt from the previously strict visa requirement. Indonesia aims to hereby increase the number of tourists entering the country without a visa, from 9.4 million last year to 11 million this year.
