Jamie McCourt, former baseball team co-owner has been nominated as an US ambassador to Belgium by President Donald Trump.
McCourt is currently an attorney and investor in Southern California and a co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers with her ex-husband, Frank McCourt, until 2011.
The former ambassador, Denise Bauer, served in the position since 2013 when she was nominated by former president Barack Obama.
McCourt is considered a major Republican donor, even contributing to Trump’s presidential campaign.
Before moving forward, the Senate must confirm McCourt’s nomination.
