Belgian market will get an influenza vaccine for the upcoming winter season from three companies.
The representative of the federal agency for medicines and healthcare products (FAMHP) has reported that a total of 2.635 million doses of vaccine will be distributed.
It’s fewer than a year ago, when 3.257 million doses were provided for the winter season, writes De Morgen.
Pharmacies across the country have already received 1.5 million influenza vaccines since early September, says FAMHP.
The Superior Health Council of Belgium recommends timely vaccination for all people at a greater risk of contracting the flu, including seniors over the age of 65, pregnant women, the parents and caretakers of young babies and healthcare sector staff.
