Brussels region’s government has signed an agreement with telecoms operators introducing 5G mobile internet from 2020.
Brussels will become the first Belgian city that will implement the ultra-fast technology, told a spokesman for Brussels minister-president Rudi Vervoort.
Mobile operators have signed the memorandum of understanding and committed to finding the most efficient way of introducing 5G with limited electro-magnetic radiation.
5G technology will offer speeds up to 10 times faster than the current 4G, opening up new possibilities for connected devices, including driverless cars.
