MEET TAKE AIR, EUROPE’S FIRST ALL-YOU-CAN-FLY AIRLINE

AIR TRAVEL: Belgium’s newest airline is hoping to revolutionise the air travel industry by becoming Europe’s first all-you-can-fly membership carrier.
The idea of an all-you-can-fly airline has already been trialled by the likes of Surf Air and JetBlue in the US and now Take Air founder Matthieu Dardenne wants to bring the concept to the other side of the Atlantic. Starting in March 2015, the Belgian entrepreneur is hoping to offer frequent flyers unlimited flights to European destinations for a fixed monthly fee as members of Take Air.
Two routes have been confirmed for the airline’s inaugural flights, providing at least five links per day between Antwerp – Zurich and Paris – London, with more routes to be added every six months. Explaining the concept, Matthieu Dardenne said: “If you travel to a certain destination more than twice a month, Take Air can already offer you better value, save you time and give you more travel comfort.
“Flying with us will easily save you 90 minutes on each leg of your trip, as you can check in up to 15 minutes before departure. This should not be underestimated. As a Take Air member, you also receive the personal assistance of an Airport Angel, who will be there to help you organise your travel. Our web app allows you to book and cancel your flights in less than 30 seconds,” he added.
Passengers will be flown in the comfort of private aeroplanes, departing from business terminals (also known as General Aviation Terminals) in order to reduce check-in time and avoid long queues. Memberships start at 1,650 euros per month with no hidden extras with registration for the waiting list available on the Take Air website.
