Additional costs for calling abroad are going to become a thing of the past.
After years of discussion, the European Parliament passed a law for the abolishment of the roaming charges from June 2017, writes Het Laatste Nieuws.
The European Parliament already approved the reform on roaming charges in January, but today’s parliamentary vote made it official.
Roaming charges will permanently disappear this year on 15 June, so that telecoms customers in Belgium will pay the same price for a call to another EU country as for one within Belgium.
The reform is a major victory for European consumers, according to the newspaper.
