Drivers have been advised to be extra-vigilant on the roads in the coming days as overnight temperatures fall below freezing across a large part of Belgium.
Ice, mist and fog are likely on country roads on Thursday morning, especially in the south, where daytime temperatures are not forecast to get above 4°C, according to official forecaster IRM.
Friday will be the coldest, with just 1°C forecast during the day in Brussels and -1°C the daytime high in the Ardennes. Slippery conditions on the roads will continue into the weekend in Wallonia, with maximum temperatures around 3-4°C.
The cold snap is due to pass early next week, when most of Belgium will enjoy highs in excess of 10°C.
