There’s no doubt that Belgium is famous with its beer, for Belgium it is not just a drink, but an integral part of Belgian culture. A lot of beer festivals are held everywhere in the country during whole year.
One of the biggest Belgian beer festivals is The Belgian Beer Weekend that takes place every year during the first weekend of September at the Grand-Place.
Beer lovers from all over Belgium, and from neighboring countries – France, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg gather in Brussels.
This year the event will take place From Friday 2 till Sunday 4 September 2016
About 50 Belgian breweries will represent around 350 different Belgian beers
The entrance will be free, you need to pay for tastings only. Price per glass of beer usually is less than 1 euro.
At the occasion of the Beer Weekend the symbol of Brussels folklore Manneken-Pis will wear special costume and at 1 pm. will be peeing beer. Manneken-Pis always wears special costumes for certain events.
The Belgian Beer Weekend continues until Sunday night.
