The Brussels ‘march against terror and hatred’ that was postponed on 27 March due to safety concerns will instead take place on 17 April, writes Brusselnieuws. The original event, planned for just five days after the terror attacks in the capital, was cancelled at the request of Brussels mayor Yvan Mayeur and interior minister Jan Jambon.
The new date was announced on the Facebook page of Emmanuel Foulon, one of the organisers of the original event. “Unity is our greatest responsibility today,” reads the Facebook event page. “With the whole country and all its communities, we join hands together against terror and hatred. With a strong message: it is only through greater equality and solidarity that we will gain greater security.”
The march will depart on Sunday, 17 April, at 14.00 from Brussels North Station. The rest of the parade route has not yet been announced.
The hashtag for the event on social media is #Samenéén / #Tousensemble.
