Belgium’s prime minister Charles Michel last week became a father for the second time, to a baby girl named Jeanne, the prime minister announced via Facebook. Michel’s partner Amélie Derbaudenghien and the newborn are doing well, report various media.
Michel is the first Belgian prime minister to become a father during his tenure. In order to attend the birth on Thursday, he had federal deputy prime minister Alexander De Croo take his place at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The prime minister’s son from a previous relationship, Maximilien, is reportedly “very happy” about the news of his sister’s birth.
