Electric scooters sharing scheme is launched in Brussels

Electric scooters can now be found around Brussels, it’s a part of a new transport sharing scheme.

The app Troty lets you log in, find a scooter and get a code that will unlock it for use.

Troty has been tested in Paris and is available in some US cities. Users can join for €1 and then pay €0.15 per minute. As an example, you could pick up a scooter at Grand’Place and be in Parvis in about 12 minutes for €1.80. Of course, the faster you can go, the cheaper it is.

Troty offers advice for those new to electric scooters, such as to ride in bike lanes when available but never on pavements. Scooters can be left anywhere, but if you leave it in one of several designated indoor spots around the city, you get five minutes free on your next trip.
