The first metro train drove through Brussels on 20 September, 1976, when there were only several metro stations on a single line.
The Brussels public transport company STIB decided to organize a special celebration in occasion of 40 years of service. A number of artistic events will be presented in 15 of Brussels metro stations, writes Bruzz.
The STIB celebration coincides with Mobility Week (16-22 September). In preparation for the week, STIB has launched a request for users to share their Brussels metro memories, photos and videos on an interactive timeline (http://timeline40.stib.be/) that will be available from Tuesday.
